Fresh Intel About Fortuny's New Showroom

Venerable Venetian fabrics company Fortuny opens the doors of its new showroom in NYC's Decoration & Design building tonight, ushering in a new era for the more-than-a-century-old firm. A Curbed National tipster reveals that the space will be triple the size of the old one, with Barry Dixon-designed interior details such as reclaimed wood flooring, an open layout, an extensive fabrics library and bar, and a section that pays tribute to company founder Mariano Fortuny, who pioneered new methods of dying and printing on textiles in the early 20th century. Also set to be unveiled tonight: Fortuny's first-ever furniture collection and a new collection of lighting.
