New Swarovski Magazine Keeps Lead Thumb on Bedazzler

In an attempt to put, uh, the sparkle back into the ever-discouraging field of print journalism, cut-crystal company Swarovski has recently released its Autumn/Winter 2010 issue of Salt: A Magazine by Swarovski. On first glance, it pretty much looks like any other luxury lifestyle magazine, except for the fact that everything from the heavy-stock covers to the barrage of jewelry porn inside is really, unbelievably shiny. Of note: an interview with architect Zaha Hadid, who has collab'd with Swarovski on a line of lighting, and a whole last page devoted to touring the world's largest natural crystals in a cave in Mexico. (Perhaps talk of caves and/or mines wasn't such a red-flagged topic when this issue went to press.) In any event, there's also myriad fashion stories, a feature on contemporary lighting—including the new Yves Behar line, among others—and a spread on furnishings that appear to have spent some one-on-one time with a bedazzler.
