Our sister site Curbed LA sheds light on Chateau D'Or, a $39.995M manse in Bel Air, Calif. that's just returned to market. Everything about this place screams—and loudly, mind you—from the five-digit address itself (10451 Revuelta Way) and dining room that seats 50 (what? why?) to the "massive" fireplaces, 600-foot drive, "stunning" chandeliers, and "sky high" ceilings. It's all meant to look like an "18th-century French palace," even though it was completed in the great gilded age of 1997. Note to whomever named this beaut: adding "D'Or" to stuff does not a class act make.
