Location: Bloomfield Township, Mich.
Price: $3,500,000
The Skinny: Bloomfield, one of Detroit's toniest suburbs, plays host to a variety of gorgeous classic homes. Most were built around the turn of the century for auto barons seeking refuge from the industrial feel of the city. This 1908 Tudor is no different and displays the best in midwestern craftsmanship, most notably a multitude of stained glass. While more recent decorating decisions leave a bit to be desired, the bones of this 6000-square-foot manor manage to shine through. The verdant backyard, with its good (lush landscaping) and bad (boulders in the swimming pool surround), makes the case for suburban living. Still, it might not be worth the premium over city living.
