Ode to the Wing Chair

In this weekend's Wall Street Journal, design writer Sara Ruffin Costello has a short piece about wing chairs, aka the "suitable spot for repose other than horizontally in my bed." When Ruffin Costello envisioned her holidays—cozy slippers, hearth, hardcopy newspaper, hot cider, and all—the only thing missing was one of such chairs, which she eventually found on Craigslist. The versatile furnishing, she humorously contends, "goes to the Upper East Side in a classic British tweed and to hipster Brooklyn in a romantically, un-showy cotton muslin shift." [WSJ]
