Hella Jongerius's Designs Hella Absurd, Hella Marvelous

Dutch industrial designer Hella Jongerius's eponymous design studio churns out tabletop, textiles, and furnishings of the most unusual sort, so much so that her current solo exhibition in Rotterdam is called "Misfits." "Whether a commercial product or a limited edition piece, there's a rebellious streak of fantasy that threads throughout her work, often with witty results," reports Wallpaper* in its excellent review of the show. Since founding JongeriusLab in 2000, the designer has released some fairly mind-blowing products with Vitra, Droog Design and Ikea, as well as curiosities for her own collection; we pulled the most fascinating items from her portfolio and published them in an extra-large photogallery above. Have a look.
