Alexa Hampton's Spec-House Sorcery in the Hamptons

Everything's comin' up roses for designer Alexa Hampton, who released her first book, The Language of Interior Design, in October; whose workspace was featured in New York Social Diary's "House" column last week; and whose Bridgehampton, N.Y., spec project was just published in the Dec. issue of Architectural Digest. As our sister site Curbed Hamptons reports, Hampton overcame "lamentable details" such as "out of whack" mantelpieces to transform a generic snooze into the space above—"easy and comfortable, yet not without flair,” she says.
