Thanksgiving Day Parade Pad Really a Neighborhood Bargain

New, 7 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $17,500,000
The Skinny: With the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade just two days away, some American families are making the trek to the Big Apple to see the festivities firsthand. While most are resigned to watching the six-story falloons (yes, that's the official term) from street level, a high-flying power couple could choose to make a quick deal for this prime spot on coveted Central Park West. Set on the eighth floor of a pre-war known as The Kenilworth, this three-bedroom spread enjoys 44 feet of parade route frontage and—more suitable for all seasons—a recent renovation aimed at restoring the interior to its 1908 grandeur. Before the parade has a chance to take your breath away, though, the price might. At $17.5M, that view ain't comin' cheap. But compare it to the neighbors down the street at Robert A.M. Stern's vaunted 15 Central Park West, where a mystery buyer recently laid out $40M for a three bedroom, and this is starting to look like a Black Friday fire sale.
