Luxist (who else?!) presents all the juicy details about the world's most expensive things sold at auction this year, a list that includes three home-related items. There's the massive silver wine cooler (left), which set a new record for English silver at auction by selling for $3.89M; an 18th-century Chinese porcelain vase, which sold for $69.3M; and the 1770 Thomas Chippendale commode, which sold for 5.98M. All basic creature comforts, of course.
