A cool $50M is the asking price for what developers are calling the world's largest penthouse—a not-yet-complete 68,459-square-foot behemoth in Costa Rica's 14-story Genesis Puntarenas. With 10 bedrooms, 13 baths and a dining room that seats 42, the space promises many an awkward family reunion, not to mention monthly mortgage payments of more than $220,000. Just think of the pluses, though: in Monte Carlo, a penthouse weighing in at a measly 17,500 square feet sold for $312M earlier this month. That's more than six times the price, of course, with a fraction of the space.
