Derek Jeter's Permanent Home Complete; Does Not Stop Short

New, 12 comments

When Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter put his NYC digs on the market in September, Bronx Bombers fans feared that perhaps the franchise wouldn't, in fact, re-sign their aging captain. Alas, re-signed he most certainly was, and once his new three-year, $51M contract expires it's likely he will retire to his just-completed mega manse in the Davis Islands in Tampa, Fla. Hillsborough County's biggest resident will soon reside in Hillsborough County's biggest residence, what with some 30,800 square feet worth an estimated (and modest) $1.75M. As for that "memorabilia room?" When the No. 2 jersey finally comes off, the king of the castle needs a place to kick back and enjoy being No. 1.
