Another day, another entire Western American town off the market; fare thee well, Scenic, S.D! The minuscule town, which was put on the market a few years ago for $3M by its owner, Twila Merril, most recently asked $799K and has finally been scooped up by a California-based Filipino church, according to a story in the Daily Mail. Iglesia Ni Cristo hasn't revealed its plans for the near-deserted town, but here's what it gets in the sale: 46 acres of land (12 in town and 34 just outside), a U.S. Post Office land lease, the Longhorn Fuel & Food Convenience Store, a saloon, a museum, two houses, and two jails. "It’ll be sad to let it all go," said Merril's daughter. "I have a lot of memories there, and I’m really going to miss it. I hope the person who buys it really enjoys it like we did."
