Location: Granby, Colo.
The Skinny: With room for horses, rustic log architecture, a bubbling mountain creek, alpine meadows, this place has all the necessary elements of a sprawling mountain ranch, but at just 40 acres, far less of the expensive upkeep. That's not to say there's nothing to do beyond the ranch gates, as this plot lies next to the famous C Lazy U Guest Ranch, which offers more than 8,000 acres stocked with fish and game, a gourmet restaurant, hotel accommodations, and a full-service spa. The house itself, a 6,000-square-foot spread, is relatively tasteful compared to some of the mountain region monstrosities we've seen, with two master suites and a ten-bed bunk room for the inevitable flood of guests.
