WSJ reveals that the Architecture Billings Index, a way of gauging the industry's vitality, is looking sluggish: while the numbers rose in October over September, they're still low. Meanwhile, the AIA's chief economist stresses that "there continues to be a high level of volatility in the marketplace, with architecture firms reporting a wide range of conditions from improving to uncertain to poor."
