This Adirondack Great Camp Offers Spectacular Stargazing

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Long Lake, N.Y.
Price: $6,495,000
The Skinny: The brokers behind the listing of this Adirondack "great camp" are quick to point out that the night photography has not been photoshopped. Why? Because the long-exposure photos reveal some breathtaking views of the stars, not obscured by light pollution. That prime stargazing is at least partly due to the remote location of this lakefront compound, some five hours drive from NYC, but the listing has several solutions to that problem as well, with a grassy helipad and a seaplane dock. The historic 13-building compound was founded in 1903 and features an original, summer-only lodge, a newer, insulated lodge, and 42 gated acres. Power is supplied by solar panels, while a wood-fired furnace provides heat, to the $6.5M estate.
