Glassy Beach House Fronting on Shark-Infested Stinson Beach

New, 6 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Stinson Beach, Calif.
Price: $6,450,000
The Skinny: Located 20 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Stinson Beach offers up one of the finest stretches of coastline in the Bay Area. This $6.45M beach house takes full advantage of that shoreline, perched in the dunes just above the sand. The wide expanse of glass opens the 1,800-square-foot house to the sea, while out back there's a pool in the courtyard, a well-trimmed patch of grass, and a stand of tropical trees. For the money, this isn't a lot of house, but given the prime location and quality design, it would make a charming summer house for a Silicon Valley titan. Just watch out for the Great White sharks. Stinson Beach was closed for ten days this summer after a shark was spotted in the surf.
