The humorist Garrison Keillor built a household name out of his popular National Public Radio show, Prairie Home Companion. Now he's looking to sell his vacation compound, an 11-acre plot on the banks of the St. Croix River, without mentioning that famous name in the listing. Apparently, he doesn't have to bother. The place is pretty much perfect as a rustic retreat, combining log cabin architecture with a, how do we put this, restrained number of bedrooms. There are just two on the property, limiting the number of weekend guests and ensuring Keillor doesn't have play M.C. while he's on vacation. The bespectacled storyteller also maintains homes in NYC and St. Paul, Minn., and has this compound up for sale for just under $1M.
