Google Maps Conquers the Complex Inner Workings of Ikea

Swedish breakfast destination and segregator of men Ikea may soon be forced to rest its laurels on something other than its maze-like stores that force people to buy things. The new Google Maps 6.0 is making it possible for Android users to navigate Ikea's interior layout by department, making the complex process of shopping there more palatable. Brandon Russell over at Techno Buffalo tried it out—watch the official Google demo below—concluding that it works pretty well. "When zoomed in the map showed a detailed layout along with what aisles were where," he writes. "You can even manipulate the map with a two-finger rotate gesture to really get a handle on where you currently are in relation to Kitchen and Dining." Great, so which way to the doggie highchairs, please?
