Controversial Korean Twin Towers to Go Ahead as Planned

New, 7 comments

Despite the uproar, the controversial Korean skyscraper that bears a striking resemblance to the Twin Towers on 9/11 will be constructed as planned, without alteration. Designed by the Dutch firm MVRDV, The Cloud is slated to be completed sometime in 2016. In a clear misunderstanding of the outcry, a spokesperson for the Yongsan Development Corporation said, "allegations that [The Cloud] was inspired by the 9/11 attacks are groundless." We don't think anyone thought the towers were inspired by September 11th, just that they demonstrated a lack of sensitivity to the tragedy.
