Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.
Location: Malibu, Calif.
Price: $26,000,000
The Skinny: Lying directly adjacent to Malibu's El Matador State Beach, this stone manse enjoys even broader unspoiled views than most on the Malibu bluffs, but, while the 270-degree views are unreal, that's all the listing seems to focus on. There are no interior shots of the four-bedroom, 3.5-bath house, which was, according to the brokerbabble, "restored by well known designer Michael Lee." Now, we take issue with the use of the word "restored," considering the house seems to have been built from the ground up in 2008, but it's hard to argue when confronted with the awe-inspiring amphitheater swimming pool. Instead of the usual gunite, the bottom of the pool consists of a beachy layer of loose pebbles, designed by landscape architect Maureen Barnes. Despite the listing's shortcomings and the stratospheric asking price of $26M, we'd give this one the thumbs up based on the exterior alone.
