Fast Food Giant Burger King Goes Upscale in Southeast Asia

Photos: Dezeen

Tired of the soulless environs of your local Burger King? Well, much like the swank new McDonald's in France—that fast food giant has something spiffy for you, too bad it's located all the way in Singapore. In a bid to attract more families with children and teenagers, the Burger King Garden Grill is decked out with wooden chairs and tabletops, a muted color scheme, and a garden theme anchored by flower pots-turned-lamp shades and some plantings. Considering the food hasn't been altered at all, this seems like a bit of false advertising, but Burger King is running with the concept, developed by the design firm Outofstock, and plans on opening more restaurants like this in Singapore and Japan.
