Reclaimed Wood Hides Modern Interiors at "Rock Star Abode"

New, 2 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Aspen, Colo.
Price: $19,500,000
The Skinny: From the road, this sprawling, 10,000-square-foot Aspen ranch presents as a series of rustic barns, but closer inspection reveals a single, ultra-modern home hiding within the antique wood facade. Boasting eight bedrooms and five full and two half bathrooms, the house was built in 1986, but significantly remodeled in 2009, which helps to explain those contemporary interiors. With a bit more variation of color and material than usual—plus some bold art—this is one mountain home that dodges the log home cliche. The brokerbabble refers to this as a "rock star abode," but we haven't been able to put our finger on just which celeb, if any, owns this tasteful escape. Got some insider information? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
