Ice Cube's video for the epic Southern California art bonanza Pacific Standard Time has just dropped, and in it, the rapper tours the steely, glassy, Mondrian-esque Eames House in Los Angeles, where husband-and-wife design team Ray and Charles Eames lived from 1949 on. The main gist of the promo, as the folks at Curbed LA point out, is that the city is not nearly as ugly as its reputation would suggest: "One man's eyesore is another man's paradise," says Ice Cube, who adds that before getting into music he "studied architectural drafting and one thing I learned is that you always gotta have a plan." Another soundbite of note: "In a world full of McMansions, where the structure takes up all the land, the Eames made structure and nature one. This is going green 1949-style, bitch."
