Shopping Mall Creates Entire Room From 661 Pounds of Chocolate

In this installment of Adventures in Retail—and also Putting Small Countries on the Map—the Akropolis shopping mall in Lithuania has decorated an entire room out of 661 pounds of chocolate. Aiming to recreate a traditional Lithuanian sitting room, seven artists clad every inch of the 183-square-foot space in chocolate, including the floor, ceiling, walls, furniture, candlesticks, and books. "Everybody who sees a full-size chocolate room will have no doubt. It's the best place for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner," one of the sculptors said. Of course! The room will be on view until March 8, at which point people can start eating it. Nothing screams International Women's Day quite like chocolate!
