Today the New York Times has a story about a Brooklyn woman who purchased a two-story brick house in 1956 and who has stayed put ever since. Mary Sansone, 94, paid $14K for the place, recalling, "But once we made the $2,000 down payment, and with the $100 a month for the mortgage, we didn’t have a nickel left over to furnish it." [NYT]
