Indiana Government Building Might Be Named "Harry Baals"

New, 1 comment

Ever wonder how municipal buildings across this great nation are named? If what's happening right now in Fort Wayne, Ind., is any indication, sometimes these offices are titled the good old-fashioned democratic way: by voting. Currently up for debate on Feedback Fort Wayne's polling site is whether or not to name a government center after the city's former mayor Harry Baals. So far, there are more than 4,400 "ayes," although we suspect some people are ballot-stuffing after reading about the controversy on Gawker. Says Deputy Mayor Beth Malloy: "I'm glad people want to get involved. We are having fun with government," also asserting, "We're not going to make any decisions that look bad." What does she know! This crowd's never going to name a government building "Beth Malloy."
