Man Who Liked Picture Frame Ends Up With an Original Cezanne

How's this for trusting your gut with wall decor: a man in England who bought a painting because he liked the frame has just realized that said painting is likely by Paul Cezanne—and, dated 1854, might in fact be the artist's earliest work. The poor guy bought the piece, stashed it in the attic, and realized upon looking at it closer that the brushstrokes and markings bore a striking resemblance to Cezanne's signature post-impressionistic style. Auctioneers have appraised the painting at more than $67M, pending authentication; it's on its way to the National Gallery for further testing.
