For a while, Surface magazine was widely assumed to be headed down the path to Foldingtown, but Sandow Media has just rescued it from Quadra Media in a move that makes the pub. sisters with the big, bold glossy Interior Design. Self-described as "the American voice of the contemporary luxury and design world," Surface will launch its first issue under its new ownership in the July/August edition, and editor in chief Dan Rubenstein will stay on. Sandow Media is also parent company to the Luxe magazine conglomerate, Home Textiles Today and Home Accents Today, among others.
