Today the Wall Street Journal has a story on the current bill that's making its way through the Florida legislature that, if passed, would deregulate the interior design occupation for commercial projects. At the moment, it's one of three states that requires commercial interior designers to be licensed before starting work on a project. Naturally, those already licensed aren't too pleased that the market may soon become flooded: "someone in my position that thinks they know what they're doing because they watched HGTV for two weeks scares me," said one licensed interior designer.
