Teen Cribs Didn't Pay Off For One Michigan Family

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Goodrich, Mich.
Price: $4,500,000
The Skinny: That mildly despicable and short-lived MTV Cribs spin-off Teen Cribs might have inspired a few slack jaws in its day, but, for the owners of many featured homes, it served as an infomercial for their overgrown, personalized mansions. That game plan didn't work out so well for the owner of this lakeside Michigan manse. After the show aired in 2009, Robert Slade—who is, surprise, surprise, a luxury homebuilder—listed the eight-bedroom, 15,600-square-foot house for $10M. After two years on the market, the price tag has been slashed down to $4.5M, which might have something to do with the fact that it's located in a suburb of Flint, a city where 25 percent of the population is living below the poverty line. Just a hunch.
