Carmelo Anthony Finally Unloads Colorado Spread, Loses $6M

New, 6 comments

Basketball's Carmelo Anthony was traded this year from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks, spurring plenty of Big Apple speculation before he settled on renting a penthouse in Hell's Kitchen. 'Melo might have been wary of purchasing after getting burned on his massive Colorado spread. The star purchased this 21,000-square-foot mansion for $12M at the height of the market in 2007. Since then it's been all downhill: Anthony didn't even attempt to turn a profit when he listed last June for $9.5M. This week, the b-ball star signed a contract to sell the money pit for $6.2M. Carmelo can't complain too much, considering he just signed a three-year, $65M contract to play in New York.
