Today the New York Times drops the bomb that Diane Keaton has just designed a stoneware tabletop line for Bed, Bath & Beyond. The actress, who is currently renting Meg Ryan's Spanish-style Bel Air, Calif., house, says she's always been a shelter-mag fan but really got her feet wet in design when bought her Lloyd Wright-designed Los Feliz house in '06. (It's currently on the market for $13.5M.) Since, she's toyed with creating a line of furniture—"One of the reasons is you have to know a little bit more than just venturing out. I had no idea what I was getting into. None."—and says the "sturdy and simple" qualities of Catalina pottery inspired the "farm-y, landscape colors" colors of K by Keaton for Bed, Bath & Beyond. "What’s appealing right now is not to punch it up with a lot of color. It came really from Catalina and then morphed into something even a little more modern." At the moment, plates with words on them cost $4.99 apiece and a 12-piece dinnerware set costs $59.99.
