Harry Potter Author J.K. Rowling's Childhood Home for Sale

New, 2 comments

Before she ever dreamt up a bespectacled boy named Harry Potter, British author J.K. Rowling spent her childhood in this 1852 stone cottage. Built in the fanciful Gothic Revival style, it's no wonder that the little Rowling went on to become a magnificently successful author as an adult; the place looks tailor made to inspire stories of castles and wizards. Today, the home is apparently owned by a BBC producer and, despite the fact that her name remains scrawled on the door frame, Rowling has so far declined to make an offer. The cottage is currently asking $642K, a deal if Rowling's success rubs off on the new owner.
