Russian Paraplegic Builds Cable Lift to Access Fifth-Floor Flat

New, 4 comments

After developers screwed Dmitry Bibikow out of a promised elevator installation, the 32-year-old Russian—who was paralyzed in a climbing accident—decided to fashion one himself using his wheelchair and a cable lift. The deadbeat developers promised Dmitry an elevator six years ago, meaning he's required a friend's help to scale the five flights for quite some time. Luckily, this homemade solution is well-suited to Bibikow, who was an avid skydiver and mountaineer before his accident, so the whole fear of heights thing doesn't come into play.
