Closer to God, For Cheap, in the Tony Resort Town of Newport

New, 1 comment

Usually when we think of Newport, R.I. we think of magnificent oceanfront mansions and their high price tags. This converted church offers a cheaper alternative, and makes up for the lack of an ocean view with the novelty of living in a house of god. Compared to some of the other repurposed houses of worship we've looked at in the past—like this decked out Methodist church in Dallas—this place is in need of some work, at least in the dimly lit basement bedroom, which feels more like a crypt than anything else. Still, unless the next owner is struck down for defiling a house of god, this steepled property offers one of the better deals in Newport, priced at $875K.
