Artists Have Grand Plans for This Remote Island on Lake Superior

A group of artists has plans to build a cabin and studio on this previously uninhabited island off Michigan in Lake Superior. One of the planners picked the plot up on Craigslist and must have paid a song for it, considering the group is now trying to raise $12,500 on Kickstarter to build the cabin, which is set to be constructed out of indigenous timber and stone, and purchase that all important boat. The rest of the island will be kept as a nature preserve and inspirational idyll for the New York and London based artsy types. Summers are undoubtedly nice, but we have to wonder who will be living out on this lonely isle come winter.
