Bob Dylan and Richard Gere Made a Home on Reagan's Land

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Los Angeles, Calif.
Price: $9,975,000
The Skinny: Before he upgraded to the White House, Ronald Reagan lived next door to the future site of this house and purchased the lot to provide his home with more privacy. Years later, the political leanings of this particular property have skewed left. After Reagan departed, the house that was built on the privacy lot was rented by singer-songwriter Bob Dylan and sold to actor Richard Gere, neither of whom likely—and we're just assuming here—viewed the Reagan provenance as a positive. The house has plenty of politically neutral plusses, though, like the "airliner" views, soundproofed home theater, and swank swimming pool, all for just under $10M.
