In the popular imagination, the creator of the spooky Addams Family series, Charles Addams, probably occupied some gloomy Victorian, not a well-groomed Colonial in northern New Jersey. Well, it turns out the genius who created such creepy environs for his characters actually lived in this quaint six-bedroom in Westfield Town, N.J., along with his wife—not named Morticia—from 1920 to 1947. The house is now available for sale for $839K, and, it should be mentioned, has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
