A Texas Mediterranean That Wows Outside, Lets Down Inside

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Dallas, Texas
Price: $1,900,000
The Skinny: We must admit, we've never really understood the proliferation of Mediterranean-style homes in the United States, but they sure have caught on in some of our sunnier states like Texas, where this Dallas number stone home does its best to mimic a Moorish-influenced Spanish hacienda. For a recent build, the exterior is quite convincing, particularly out back, where a tiled portico overlooks a swimming pool flanked by cypress trees. Inside, however, where four bedrooms and six baths sprawl over 7,200 square feet, the effect is less than moving. Instead, the wood trim is cheaply finished, the built-ins are over the top, and the bathrooms are run-of-the-mill McMansion fare. Listed for $1.9M, the house sits in the Greenway Parks neighborhood of Dallas.
