A Dutch Warehouse Elevates Offices to Glassy Penthouse

Confounded by a network of underground pipes, a Dutch business was forced to construct a tall warehouse on this site in order to maximize storage space. When that left little room for ground floor offices, the architects decided to park a glassy addition on the roof to house the offices, lending them a much more open feel and providing views of the nearby Amstel River and the surrounding lowlands, plus the place looks absolutely stunning at night. The architects, a firm called I Love Architecture, upped the contrast with stark, off-white concrete panels on the lower section and a sleek black for the steel-and-glass penthouse offices.
