Consider the February cover of House Beautiful a bright, pleasant moment in an otherwise dreary month: the space, an eating area in a 1940s home in North Carolina, was completed by Lindsey Coral Harper—the NYC-based decorator who came close, although sadly not close enough, in Curbed's Hottest Designer of the Year contest last year. No matter: "Mixing bright yellow with gray and white is a new color combination for me—very modern, very now," Coral Harper says. A lovely combo all around, one rarely seen on shelter covers, and bonus points to the lady for avoiding the word "grellow."
