Apparently Kevin James isn't as low key as his boy-next-door rap would imply: the actor has just dropped a massive amount of cash on a massive mansion in Delray Beach, Fla., according to the Palm Beach Post. Best known from the nine-year comedy series The King of Queens, James paid $18.5M for a 1.85-acre estate, which has a 12,800-square-foot Med-style main house (the property offers 26,500 square feet of total living space) described in the brokerbabble as a "blissful haven for indoor/outdoor living," and "an oceanside paradise indulging every passion." The home, a "Mediterranean Revival masterwork" completed in 2009, features mahogany paneling, wood-beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces, loggias, terraces, stone columns, two "wardrobe rooms," and a barrel-vaulted kitchen ceiling, plus fun little extras like a game room and a spa with a hydrotherapy tub. Overall the look is stately, imposing, and not all that beachy: then again, the manse is located across the street from the water and not actually on it. Perhaps that busy two-land road accounts for the $1.45M discount James got on the place, which was originally listed in Nov. 2011 for $19.95M.
