One would expect the former home of the late, great, King of Rock 'n' Roll to have, say, guitar-shaped landscaping or a piano-themed staircase. But nope, Elvis Presley's old estate in Beverly Hills is really quite dull. Presley and his wife, Priscilla, bought the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home for $400K in 1967, the year they married, Elvis remained here after their 1972 divorce, and—oh, how times change!—it was just put on the rental market for $25K a month last February. At the time, the brokerbabble encouraged potential tenants not to "be fooled by the old Hollywood references; this estate has been thoroughly updated." Indeed it has: listed for $12.995M, the place now sports a dramatic coffered ceiling hovering over the main living space, plus floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall expanses of glass. Despite modern updates, the front gate is still covered with notes of adulation from Elvis die-hards—it's nice to know that a little bit of music history remains, even though Elvis has passed and his ex-wife has channeled her energies into designing damask-patterned throw pillows.
