In another bizarre yet entirely successful marketing scheme, Ikea called upon the locals in Bergen, Norway, to help move 300 meters (984 feet) down the road. Twenty percent of the town's residents showed up to the store's re-opening and sales for the day broke Ikea records. Community involvement may not be as flashy as an opera troupe or gondolas but, still, it's pretty damn effective. [PSFK]
