What would you do with $30.5 million? Well, the 22-year-old Hyannis Mega Millions winner Sandeep "Sunny" Singh has already taken his winning ticket to lottery headquarters, accepting a lump sum of $23 million. "Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain," now has $16.1 million, post-tax man. Mr. Singh will be keeping his job as a bank teller through December, but as for his second job over at Best Buy, he's submitting his two-week notice quick-fast. Mr. Singh's plans for the money include helping his mother with her mortgage, helping other family members, completing his bachelor's degree in business, and donating "some money to the community." When asked about a significant other, Mr. Singh seemed giddy about recently being dumped, "No, no lucky girlfriend, just broke up with her, Nice. Ha ha. Thank God!" Mr. Singh doesn't seem likely to spend a large percentage of his newly found net worth on four walls and a roof, but then again, what do we know? Thus, here are four potential places for Mr. Singh and his 16 million new friends to hang out.
Where: 29 Lincoln Street, West Hyannisport (above) [Listing]
What: 4BR, 6BA with 4,768 sq. ft.
How Much: $3,995,000
The Skinny: "The Ultimate Beach House" seems fitting for a 22-year-old with money to burn. This property features "four spacious en suite bedrooms," plus a separate guest cottage, certainly enough room for the new, inevitable entourage. If not, they can set up tents on the wrap-around porch. The residence was built in 2008, but is "reminiscent of a 1920s beach house," perfect for new money not wanting to look like new money. The property also comes with a private beach on Nantucket Sound (another option for entourage sleeping arrangements) and an in-ground pool (looks like a plunge pool, not a swimming pool, unless you're in kindergarten). Most importantly for a 22-year-old, there's a three car garage.
Where: 186 Stoney Cove Lane, Cummaquid [Listing]
What: 6BD, 7.5BA with 7,536 sq. ft.
How Much: $4,650,000
The Skinny: Perhaps Mr. Singh doesn't care if he looks like new money and will take a liking to this property overlooking Cape Cod Bay. The master suite is straight out of an episode of "Cribs" with not one but two custom walk in closets, a fireplaced sitting area with french doors to a patio, a luxurious bathroom with a built in disappearing TV in the mirror and direct access to an executive style home office, perfect for Mr. Singh's plans to study business. The lower level features a meditation room, kitchen area and media room with a 12 foot wide television. Oh, my. There's also a smart house Creston system, greenhouse (watch out for the entourage in there, they might decide to plant a felony forest), a swimming pool and "fully equipped pool house."
Where: 12 Bay Shore Road, Hyannis [Listing]
What: 4BD, 3BA with 2,726 sq. ft.
How Much: $2,150,000
The Skinny: Here's a waterfront property overlooking Hyannis Inner Harbor. While there isn't a much room for the entourage here, they'll no doubt enjoy hanging on the private dock and waterside deck. There's also room for expansion, should Mr. Singh decide to expand his empire.
Where: 15 Avocet Road, Truro [Listing]
What: 4BD, 3BA with 3,335 sq. ft.
How Much: $3,200,000
The Skinny: We had to travel to the outer Cape to find a stereotypical bachelor pad. This one-level contemporary overlooking Cape Cod Bay has views from almost every room. According to the brokerbabble, "The design is perfect for house guests or extended family with separate bedroom and bath from this additonal room with a view, private entrance and exit and outside shower." The entourage-friendly lay-out includes two living areas, "generous decks" and a patio. There are stairs to the private beach and "tennis courts are available," whatever that means.
