Skydivers Dropping F-Bombs; West Dennis Eyesore No More

WEST DENNIS - The site plan for a new shopping plaza on Route 28 at the former Christine's Restaurant has been approved by the Dennis Conservation Commission. Designed to compliment the local landscape, "the 14,780 square-foot project includes a restaurant, café and five retail spaces ranging from 2,450 to 900 square feet each..." Off to the Planning Board they go! [Wicked Local Cape Cod]

CHATHAM - "Neighbors of the municipal airport told selectmen Tuesday night that skydiving operations were ruining their summer days." Noise from the airports 26,000 takeoffs and landings, the "flap-bang" of the chute opening (better than the alternative thump, no?) and of course, "the screaming curses of novice skydivers dropping nearly 2 miles to Earth" (no doubt hollering something like "?#@*&%! Groupon!") are driving them nuts. There are some safety concerns as well, with a few instances where parachutists missed the landing area and a plane ended up in Lover's Lake. "It had supposedly run out of gas." Apparently, that line only works on Lover's Lane. Neighbors are asking for the FAA to conduct a safety study a.s.a.p. [Cape Cod Times]
