Five Cape & Island Towns, Five Bed & Breakfast Inns Asking $599K to $3.85M

Every Week, Curbed Comparisons breaks down what you can get at the same price point, style or size in five different Cape and Islands neighborhoods. This week, we're checking out bed & breakfast inns listed for $599K to $3.85M.

Let's begin in West Barnstable, at 651 Main Street, where we find "one of the oldest homesteads on the Cape." Built in 1670, the Bursley Manor was originally a dairy farm. Currently run as a three bedroom B&B, the seven bedroom, eight bath property features a granite and stainless kitchen, a beehive oven fireplace in the living room, a separate apartment plus a one bedroom post and beam carriage house. The 3,912 sq. ft. residence first hit the market in June asking $850K. A September $5K pricechop (more of a sliver, really) brought the ask to $845K.

Built in 1880, "Three Peaks" features a large front porch, bay windows and 10.5' ceilings. There are eight en suite bedrooms, some of which have private balconies, and another with its own kitchen and living area. Over in Edgartown, at 22 N Water Street, we find a "historic Victorian inspired home built in the late 19th century by Captain Charles Fisher." Built in 1870, the eight bedroom, eight bath has been recently refurbished and features en suite bedrooms with individually controlled heat and A/C, Wi-Fi, and some with Jacuzzi tubs. The lower level of 3,768 sq. ft. residence features the l'etoile Restaurant. Outside, there's on-site parking, a patio and a fountain. First listed in May asking $4.1M, a July pricechop brought the ask to $3.85M.

Now to Barnstable Village, at 4352 Main Street, where we find a "charming and elegant 19th century home." Built in 1700, the five bedroom, five bath is listed on the National Historic Registry and features an updated kitchen, two decks and a large third floor space that would make an "ideal family/game room." The licensed B&B hit the market in July asking $629K. A few weeks ago, the property met with the pricechopper and the ask was reduced $30K to $599K. Not that the same can't be said for a few of the above listings, but perhaps some better photos might help move things along?
