50 Shots of Dining Rooms From 60+ Years of Shelter Mags

New, 5 comments

As the day of gorging (and family, and giving thanks, blah, blah, blah) draws near, it seems entirely appropriate to once again look at rooms dedicated to dinner; particularly those eye-popping dining rooms found in the archives of shelter magazines and brochures. Above, find fairytale-like illustrations in House Beautiful's June 1948 issue, Architectural Digest's monochromatic head-scratchers of the 1970s—and the magazine's cringe-inducing dining rooms of the '90s—and Elle Decor's effusively decked place settings of the aughts. Do have a look.
