Work has begun on China's Sky City Tower, which will be the tallest building on the planet when complete. Turns out the 2,749-foot-tall structure will, in fact, fulfill the developer's original mission of rising in 90—not 210, as was announced in October—days. The 220-story skyscraper will be built one prefab bit after another at a pace of five stories a day, with a target completion date of March 2013. [Construction Week Online via Dezeen; previously]
