The 'Last King of Boston' Lists Impeccable Florida Escape

New, 7 comments

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: Naples, Fla.
Price: $22,900,000
The Skinny: Described by the Boston Globe as a "a legendary Boston power broker" and by Boston Magazine as the "last king of Boston," ad man Jack Connors took his leave from back room politics, and New England winters, at this expansive waterfront mansion in Florida. Currently listed for $22.9M—more, it must be noted, than any mansion in the Boston area—the five-bedroom, eight-bath manse sits on 1.6 landscaped acres along the serpentine canals of Naples' Port Royal neighborhood. The house was built in 1996, but underwent a substantial renovation in 2007, and now is in showplace condition, even if the beachy look isn't for everyone. Connors bought the property in 2006 for $16M, and stands to make a healthy profit, provided the renovations weren't outrageously expensive.
